Founded by Anglo-Indian sisters, Abbie Price and Roanna Day, Great House Farm Stores is a luxury, refillable, candle brand based on the sisters’ family farm in Wales. Working with artisan British potters to craft their ceramic vessels, every Great House Farm Stores candle is a unique creation that supports heritage crafts in the UK. 

Great House Farm Stores is rooted in seasonal living and in the belief that scent can transform every moment. There is a scent for every season and season of life. Roanna Day, co-founder of the sustainable brand, writes original scent recipes for each of the brands’ candles. Abbie Price, co-founder, hand pours every candle on their family smallholding in South Wales. 

After giving up fast-paced lives in London and Bristol, these former city girls now live according to seasonal rhythms in the lush Welsh countryside. Inspired by its founders’ slow and natural approach to living, GHFS releases a limited edition, seasonal scent four times a year. Summer ‘22, filled with the aroma of honey and wildflowers, is designed to capture the sweetness of Summer. 

Abbie and Roanna were brought up with fragrance and flavour at the heart of every significant event. Their mother would blend different essential oils to burn every morning depending on the time of year and how she was feeling. The sisters’ use this lifelong appreciation of fragrance, and its power to affect how we feel, to inform their candle recipes. 

Along with seasonal editions, the GHFS range includes three aromatherapy scents: Heal, Rest and Calm. Home and Hearth & Home are two of the brands’ best selling candles that capture the feeling of home, inspired by the scents at the family farm. The extensive range also includes Joy and Celebrate, candles that capture two distinct seasons of life. 

Similarly to understanding what food, drink or movement your body needs to feel nourished, Great House Farm Stores encourages customers to embrace their own Home Scent Practice and lean into learning what scents are right for them in that very moment.

All Great House Farm Stores candles are refillable with the brands’ pioneering Pillar Refills (simply drop one into an empty GHFS pot). The luxury candles are made with a plant based wax, an organic cotton wick and each one is made with an original scent recipe filled with essential and botanical oils. 

These small batch candles, born from a family that’s used fragrance to mark every significant event of their lives, act as invitations to another, ancient, way of living.
