While interior trends may seem trivial after the year gone by, it’s becoming apparent that homeowners are finding a sense of optimism by investing in their homes and spending time and money on things that bring them joy.  

As we look forward to 2021, it’s important to consider the impact that 2020 has had on our lives and the influence upon our homes. For many of us, our priorities and lifestyles have altered dramatically and it was inevitable that such a sudden transformation of circumstances would completely change how we look at and use the spaces within our properties.

As we are now spending more time at home, Original Style’s interior trends for 2021 considers the changes in how we use our homes and looks at how we can create spaces that establish calm, evoke motivation and brings contentment:

Staycation

This trend showcases how we can bring that holiday feeling into our homes. With restricted travelling, this trend encourages homeowners to be inspired by vacations and holiday destinations. Blue is a key colourway here; typically associated with coastal holidays in the UK and abroad, our design team encourage the embrace of soft, sky-like pastels and deep jewel-like blues, to emulate the feeling of freedom and relaxation that holidays bring.
