Over the last few months, Original Style, a global tile supplier and manufacturer based in the UK, has been working on some exciting new additions to their iconic Victorian Floor Tile collection and are pleased to officially introduce them. Whilst continuing to honour and enliven the rich design history of geometric tiling, the latest pastel additions bring the collection to the forefront of contemporary design through providing a fresh, original approach to traditional Victorian Floor Tiles.
Victorian geometric tiles have been used in interiors for decades and have grown in popularity since they began adorning the garden paths, porches and hallways of Britain’s terraced streets, towns and cities in the 1800’s. This year, Original Style is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their Victorian Floor Tile collection, of which they’ve become renowned for, and what better way to celebrate than with the introduction of three new colours!
Original Style’s collection is home to an array of authentic colourways, shapes and even hand-decorated tiles that make up a wealth of beautiful geometric patterns and borders. As these tiles continue to grow in popularity, they’re no longer just used by those renovating period properties. Recent years have seen the introduction of more contemporary colours which has enabled homeowners to create a wider range of looks, in modern muted greys and chic neutrals for monochrome palettes and a New Heritage interior style. And, as we welcome a new decade and evolving colour trends, this summer sees the introduction of Carnation Pink, Hawthorn Yellow and Spring Green!

Carnation Pink
There’s no denying the soaring popularity of pink in interiors and this dusty pink shade is the perfect balance of soft pastel pink, with warm tones. The following sketch showcases how beautiful this new Pink hue looks when integrated into a checkerboard pattern alongside grey colourways. These two colours create a new contemporary dynamic but still have the timeless feel that Victorian Floor Tiles are famous for.

Carnation Pink also pairs beautifully with Original Style’s ‘Dover White’ and ‘Old London’ colours for a more understated approach. These colours have been sketched into the company’s ‘Brighton’ pattern with a simple border:

Hawthorn Yellow
This subtle pastel yellow shade offers a fresh, modern twist on more traditional buffs and creams. Hawthorn Yellow has been sketched into Original Style’s popular ‘Blenheim’ pattern and teamed with a modern Crittall style screen to create a contemporary style hallway with an injection of colour:

Spring Green
Greens have always been popular in interior styling and over the last few years, homeowners are opting for more mint, sage and pistachio tones.
