Basket weaving within a group enables women to support their families for the first time in their lives with a flexible income in the dry seasons, where farming becomes an unsustainable income stream. We have partnered with this weaving group for several years now and we spend time with them in person as often as we can; these women are highly skilled at creating an array of colours through scrupulous hand dyeing. Basket weaving is in these women’s blood: all have woven from a young age and will continue to pass this precious legacy on to future generations – all thanks to your purchases.
